A local leader in Kuresoi has commended area residents with regards to their efforts of fighting cattle rustling, a historical problem that the area has experienced over the years.
Speaking at the Grassland police post in his Nyota ward on Sunday where several cows are being held after villagers intercepted them and arrested two suspects, area MCA Njuguna Gicamu noted that the move signifies better days in future.
"I want to thank the people of Kimkasa and Githirigo for intercepting five cows and detaining suspected cattle rustlers before handing them over to the anti-stock theft unit here at Grassland," he said.
Although the cows owners had not been identified, it was suspected that they belonged to a large scale dairy farmer in the area. This comes barely a week after another 7 cows that had been stolen at Kimkasa were recovered in Chemanar and a number of goats recovered at Sotoito.
