Kisumu County Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Vice Chairman Dave Okwach has passed on.
Okwach who is the immediate former County ODM Chairman and has been ailing for a while passed on at Nightingale Hospital on Thursday afternoon.
He was later elected Vice Chairman through a consensus that saw former Muhoroni MP Ayiecho Olweny given the chairman’s position.
Factions representing the two leaders had each insisted that their person is the bonafide County ODM Chairman.
He has been active and was even present during the launch of Kisumu County Scholarship programme by Governor Jack Ranguma held Yesterday.
ODM party members have eulogised their counterpart. On Facebook, Migosi MCA Paul Achayo described him as an able leader.
“Rest in peace Dave, you have been such a dedicated party Chairman. You will be missed,” said Achayo on his Facebook page.
Another party Member Lee Makwiny wrote on Facebook: “The death of Dave Okwach is a big blow to the party. He was the pillar of our party ODM.”
Kisumu Central parliamentary aspirant in last year elections, Abdulkadir Omar sent his condolence message.
“Just received news of the demise of Dave Okwach. My condolences to the entire family and fraternity. You were a friend and shall be missed RIP Owadwa,” said Omar in his Facebook post.
