Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party youth leaders from Bomachoge Chache have protested and raised concern over the way the party grassroots elections were conducted.
The ODM youths led by Kevin Mamboleo, who is also an aspirant for the position of the party's youth chairman, said that other leaders in the party were planning to announce winners (who are not known to the members) of the various positions in the elections, a move he said will be going against the directive of the party's national leader Raila Odinga.
Raila had ordered that area party members hold talks and come to an agreement after the elections were marred with chaos and claims of irregularities.
The youth leader also called on other politicians from the region to stop getting involved in affairs of the youth and instead organise for meetings to steer the party towards the right direction.
"We the youth came together and agreed to hold elections as Bomachoge Chache youths but we have had challenges with our other leaders who endorse their favourites, the ones who follow their instructions.
"We want to ask them to do one thing, leave us to choose our own leaders, we don't even know these people they want to impose on us and they should know we can take care of ourselves," said Mamboleo.
