Nyamira Senator Kennedy Okong’o has promised to build eight libraries in Nyamira County to promote the education sector for county pupils and students.
Speaking on Tuesday at Nyamira Primary school, Okong’o said education is key in the development of the country, and he will ensure every sub-county benefits from two libraries.
Okong’o further challenged parents to ensure their children are educated, saying he will give a hand in supporting education programmes for the betterment of the children's futures.
Okong’o, in collaboration with Children International Organisation donated books to more than 100 primary and secondary schools in north Mugirango and west Mugirangon sub counties
“Education is the only key factor in life and nobody will take away education once you acquire it, let every parent educate their children, I am ready to help children in buying them books in this county,” said Okong’o.
“In Nyamira County we have four sub counties and every county is going to have a library that I am going to build soon, let us cooperate together to make our children come out successfully through education,” he added.
