One person died Saturday evening in a grisly road accident along Nyamarambe-Etago road in Kisii.
The accident involved a motorbike and a saloon car.
Occupants of the saloon car escaped without injuries as the bodaboda rider succumbed.
Confirming the incident, Gucha South OCPD Moses Kanyi said the middle-aged man rammed into the saloon car and died on the spot.
Kanyi, however, said they are investigating to establish the exact cause of the accident.
“The Bodaboda rider is said to have been heading to Etago from Nyamarambe when he was involved in the accident. Witnesses said the deceased was driving in the wrong direction. However, we are investigating to know the exact cause of the accident,” said the OCPD.
Kanyi warned motorists against reckless driving urging drivers to exercise maximum caution during this festive season.
“Many people are traveling to join their family members this festive season. I, therefore, call upon motorists to be very cautious and avoid reckless driving. We need each one of us to usher in the New Year.”
