Nyando Member of Parliament Fred Outa has said the graph for his political career is on an upward trend and that he has no intention of retiring in politics.

According to Mr Outa, had it not been for 'his friend' Anyang Nyongo, he would have gone for the gubernatorial contest in 2017.

Outa who has since declared his interest in the Senatorial position in the coming election now claims he has had to shelve his Gubernatorial ambition till 2022.

"For now I have left Nyongo to battle it out with Ranguma, but in 2017 I will be the Governor of this great county," said Outa on Saturday on phone during an interview with this writer.

Nyongo is said to be eyeing the Gubernatorial position in a line up which will see Outa go for the Senate.

And in a bid to have a balance of leadership representation, Outa has been brought into the Senate race to win the hearts of Kano voters which comprises the largest voting bloc in the county.

Outa now claims his ambition was to serve as Nyando MP for two terms, which he has achieved since 2007, and that it is his time to higher in his leadership career.

He said his next move is to serve as Kisumu Senator for one term before going for the Gubernatorial position in 2022.

"I am leaving Nyando because I have achieved my goals, and I want to go higher by serving in the Senate. I am sure of a big triumph in the Senatorial battle because I have no competitor. No one is ready to face me. But come 2022 I will have to achieve my last political ambition by being Kisumu Governor," he said.

The MP has however said he is yet to annoint a candidate to take over his Nyando seat, saying he will do that when the right time comes.

"I have had people talk in low tones that they want the position, but nobody has come to me strongly so I cannot say I have endorsed someone yet," he said.
