Parents in Masinga and Yatta regions have been advised to ensure they get their children birth certificates early to avoid delaying their registration for national exams.

This advised was passed on Friday by Masinga Registration Officer Onesmus Mwanthi, who was concerned with the issuance of birth certificate in Masinga and Yatta regions.

"We experience a lot of congestion and long queues in the registration offices located Kithimani market when the national examination registration is just around the corner a situation that makes several candidates unable to acquire their birth certificates making then unable to sit for their exams that particular year, "said Mwanthi.

He further advised that the parents should acquire this certificates when the children are young.

Mr Mwanthi said those who did not acquire the certificates when their children were young should do so in the early months of the year, and not just at the last minute when the schools need them for exam registration.
