People living with disabilities from Kemera ward in Kitutu Masaba sub-county, Nyamira county have been asked to acquire Identification Documents to help them look for a jobs.

Area county representative James Mating’a said that the document will also help in easy identification of the disabled persons.

“I urge all people living with disabilities in my ward to get their ID card. This is important since it will enable you to get assistance from the county for example when you are looking for a job,” said Mating’a.

He was speaking on Saturday at Kemera during an event aimed at giving wheelchairs and shoes to disabled persons in the area.

Nyamira county chairperson for people living with disabilities Maranga Sangara hailed the MCA for supporting the disabled persons.

Sangara however challenged the MCA and the government of Nyamira to consider disabled persons in the county in employment.

He noted that most of the disabled persons are vulnerable and therefore cannot support themselves.

“Thank you mheshimiwa for being close to the less disabled in your ward, we don’t take that for granted. We would further kindly like to urge you to please consider some of the disabled persons from this ward by employing them in the county,” he said.
