Chemno said the contracts will improve quality of education in schools.

Speaking on Wednesday after TSC commissioners paid him a courtesy call, the deputy governor said through signing of performance contacts, students' results will improve.

“I support the evaluation exercise, since no one might want his/her child to fail examinations, and instead every one wants them succeed in life," he said.

He said the evaluation will help address teachers’ absenteeism and poor syllabus coverage.

Cleophas Tirop, a TSC Commissioner, said the county leadership can play a very crucial role in the supervision of teachers.

"I urge all teachers to sign the performance contracts for us to evaluate them and improve service delivery. It's not that we are harassing them but we want to appraise them," he said.
