Police are investigating an incident in Kihingo Village, Kirigiti where a gang of five men car jacked a man at 2am on Wednesday.

Kiambu OCPD Stephen Ng’etich said Moses Mararo Ngururu was driving towards his home when he encountered the five men.

One of them, according to the police boss was armed with a pistol.

Mr Ng’etich said that Mr Mararo surrendered and the gang robbed him off the Sh4,500 which he had.

They also took away his ATM card he said.

He said they have been following a gang which has proved to be tough to get but said the police are doing their best to arrest the gang members.

He asked people with information regarding the gang to forward their names to the police department to ensure the area is safe and free from criminal activities.

“We are tracing a gang which has been stealing from the residents and even at times hurting the, we are doing our best to get them and we will bring them to justice,” the officer said.

He said so far no one has been arrested over the two incidents but the investigations are ongoing.

He added that they are going to beef up security and called on the general public to be cautious.
