Police in Kiambu have launched a manhunt for a medic in Kirigiti, Kiambu alleged to have impregnated a 14-year-old girl.
The suspect, who operates a clinic in Kirigiti went missing last night after he got information that police were looking for him.
He is said to have been luring the minor into his clinic by offering her money then defiling her.
The minor’s teacher at Kirigiti primary school is the one who noticed the girl’s condition and recommended for a pregnancy test which came out positive.
Teachers at the minor’s school said her behavior had changed pointing to something amiss.
“I approached her not only as her class teacher but also as the guidance and counseling teacher. I talked to her and of course, it was difficult for her but I went on and she finally told me everything and later she was tested and found pregnant” one teacher said.
“I took the girl with me and reported the matter to the police,’’ she added.
Kiambu OCPD SSP Stephen Ng’etich said that police had started a manhunt for the medic.
“we have launched a manhunt for the medic for committing the crime and I assure that the law will catch up with him,’’ Ng’etich said.
