Police in Ruiru on Tuesday nabbed 200 litres of illicit brew in a rental house after members of the public tipped them.
Police also arrested the owner of the houses where the brew was found.
Confirming the incident, Ruiru OCPD Isaac Thuranira said that members of the public led by a Nyumb Kumi members reportedof the incident.
"We also recovered a chemical we suspect is being used to prepare the brew," Thuranira said.
Thuranira said the suspect will help in the fight against illicit brew in the area.
According to police, the illegal business is being carried out at night.
"I want to thank members of the public led by the Nyumba Kumi," the OCPD said.
According to Janet Kinyanjui, the chairperson of Nyumba Kumi in the area, they noted a fishy business was being run in the house and that is why they reported.
