A middle-aged man has been found hanging from his roof on Friday morning having committed suicide in Gachororo area of Juja sub-county.

Samson Muriithi, 24, was found hanging from the roof of the house by his elder brother who had gone to see him and noticed that the door was locked from inside. He tried opening and found his brother hanging.

The police in the area said that they found a suicide note left by the deceased that addressed the bereaved family that he chose to committed suicide and the way to conduct his burial.

According to Juja OCS, Luke Odiwuor, the police were notified about the incident by the area chief Sarah Nduta and they retrieved the body. It was taken to Thika General Kago funeral home.

“Beside his body was a suicide note to his relatives informing them that he had to end his life but the reasons behind his decision were not clarified in the letter,” Odiwuor said.

He said that the police officers have launched the investigations to determine the circumstances under which the man opted to commit suicide.

“We will probe the cause of the suicide and what drove him to that. We can see that something was not right and we will get to the bottom of the matter,” he added.

The cases have been on the rise in the area with the recent incident where a woman was found on a tree near her house hanging on a daylight.
