Deputy president William Ruto has said political parties should be based on important issues rather than ethnicity noting that negative ethnicity is an outdated practice, which could only be eradicated if Kenyans are united through the formation of political parties with national outlook.
Ruto further highlighted the need for higher ideals in leadership calling upon politicians to match their deeds with their words.
"A true leader strives for higher ideals than merely winning an election and at the same time be honest with politics of our country,” said Ruto.
The DP through his Facebook account said the Jubilee administration is committed to a united country that all Kenyans can be proud of saying there is need for Jubilee parties to merge come 2017 elections.
"It's the appreciation of this fact that we are uniting under one Jubilee party because we want to realize true unity of our people and country,'' Ruto said.
