The burial rites for the retired teacher, Rose Kebaso, who passed on last week aged 80, went on without any politics as is always the norm wherever politicians are present.

The function was held at Bonyamatuta village, in the outskirts of Nyamira town.

Just before the funeral process started, the master of ceremony at the function Reverend Jonathan Nyakwama, announced that the late teacher’s family had requested no political speeches should be made at the function.

“We want a calm funeral of the late madam and all we don’t want is to see is politics gets into the game so we urge any person giving any kind of speech to avoid any political statement,” he said.

West Mugirango MP, James Gesami, his counterpart Nyamira Women’s Representative, Alice Chae, and Five Nyamira county MCAs' including Beuttah Omanga, Boniface Ombori, Robinson Mocheche, Atuti Nyameino, Naom Ondieki were among the guests at the funeral ceremony that was attended by thousands.
