President Uhuru Kenyatta has vowed to fight rampant corruption in his government. Speaking in Eldoret town on Sunday, Uhuru said that he is aware that corruption is rampant in his government and that he will do all he can to fight it.

"I am determined to fight corruption and will not entertain anyone involved in corruption by embezzling public fund and using it for his her own use," he said. He said that the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission has let Kenyans down by not doing their investigations with speed for culprits of corruption to be arrested and prosecuted.

"If the Anticorruption commission investigates officers in my government and find them guilty, I will show him or her the door and replace them with a competent person," he said.

He also urged Kenyans to help the government in the fight against corruption by refusing to give out money for services to be rendered to them.

“It’s your right to be served without paying even a single penny any corrupt officer in a public office should be reported to the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission," he said.

He added corruption is a menace that needs to be fought since it has raised the cost of doing business in the country, thus discouraging investment by both local and foreign investors.
