Thika Traffic Commander William Uhuru has warned operators of Public Service Vehicles against picking and dropping passengers at undesignated places.

Speaking to journalists in Thika town on Saturday, Mr Uhuru warned that PSVs operators who pick and drop passengers at undesignated places will be arrested and their licenses revoked.

He said that most PSVs who operate in the area have a tendency of picking and dropping passengers in the wrong places.

The commander said traffic police will be monitoring rogue PSVs adding that anyone found contravening the law will be spared.

“Drivers and conductors of PSVs who pick and drop passengers in the wrong place should know that we are watching and soon will crack the whip on them,” he warned.

Uhuru said several accidents caused by picking and dropping passengers at wrong place have been reported.

He also warned passengers who board the Matatus at wrong place saying that they too will be arrested.

Uhuru called for discipline among all road users saying that it will help reduce accidents.

It is necessary for road users to exercise discipline while on the roads especially this festive season so that we can reduce on cases of accidents,” said the base commander.
