Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma has congratulated secondary schools in the county for exemplary performance in the just released 2015 KCSE examinations results.

Among the schools that performed well is Maseno School, located in Kisumu County.

Ranguma said this was evident that Kisumu County is a giant in academics as it has been ever since.

“I am happy about the performance especially for Maseno School which is among the top nationally,” said Ranguma, adding that his government has already laid down structures to support education in the region.

He said that the county government will continue issuing bursaries and scholarships to needy but bright students in the region so that they do not drop out of school.

He was speaking when he visited Nyabondo Boys High School which was razed down by fire on Thursday.

Maseno School stamped its authority in the region to retain its position as top performer in Nyanza region.

Maseno School posted a mean score of 11.392, coming second after Moi High School Kabarak. 

This was an improvement index of 0.493 compared to a mean score of 10.9 in 2014.

Maseno had 140 straight As, 122 A-, 19 B+, one B and a B-.

Chemelil Sugar Academy in Kisumu County attained a mean score of 10.9 while Kisumu Boys High School scored 10.2.
