Public workers in Nyamira county who report to work late will be sent packing, county governor Mr. John Nyagarama has warned.
Speaking during an impromptu visit to various public offices within the county government, Mr. Nyagarama said that the county was monitoring the officers who had developed a habit of reporting late for work.
The county boss ordered the chief of staff Prof. Kennedy Ongaga to crack a whip on officers who were reportedly coming late and leaving early from public offices.
“Public servants are paid to serve people and I want to caution those who have developed a habit of coming late and leaving early from their work places. We have many other Kenyans who can serve in those offices. I direct that the chief of staff cracks a whip on those who have become regular in violating the law,” he said.
Nyagarama also challenged chief officers in all departments to ensure the implementation of various projects launched by the county government.
“I want to urge the chief officers to take charge. We want to see the implementation of various projects that have been initiated by the county government. They should also work in harmony with the county executives,” he said.
