Residents living near Ngege beach in Lake Victoria are appealing to the Kenya Wildlife Service to step in and tame a crocodile that is terrorising residents in the area.
The residents were reacting to a recent incident where a teenager from the area was killed by a crocodile.
Speaking to this writer on Tuesday, the residents said it is the role of KWS to ensure they are safe from the crocodiles in the area.
They said the incident has sent shivers among them.
"This is the second crocodile attack in a span of few days, we are calling on KWS to find a solution to this problem, because we don't have any other source of water," said Paul Memba.
The residents said they use the lake for bathing, collecting domestic water and fishing which earns them a living.
"The crocodile is terrorising us. Hundreds depend on this lake, therefore we cannot stay away simply because of one animal," said Gerishom Makapombe.
