Residents of Mikuyu sub-location in Kathekakai in Machakos county have urged Machakos county government to start an Administration Police post in the area or deploy police officers to patrol during the night.
They were speaking on Feb 17 morning after an armed gang sneaked into one of the residents homes and injured several people before fleeing with properties worth thousands of money.
Confirming the incident Mikuyu sub-location sub-chief Pius Kioko said that the robbers reportedly broke into the house at midnight where they injured several people in that family.
"I received a call from one of the residents immediately the incident occurred. The gang had already broken into the house of one of the family members and thoroughly beat him before stealing some electronics, phone, ATM and national identification cards," said Kioko.
Residents have reportedly been calling upon the county government to start a police post in the area for the last one year but nothing has been done.
They said they will not get tired of presenting their grievances to the county government until action is taken.
