Drivers plying between Kathiani town through Lita market to Machakos town have complained of unfinished road work.
Speaking to them on Feb 22 a section of them said that they suffer a lot especially during rain season due to the fact the road was partly constructed during the reign of Wavinya Ndeti when she was the area member of National Assembly but after presenting their petition to the county government for the last three years no one has ever heard them.
"I begin my day very early in the morning ferrying passengers to Machakos town for business activities and I suffer a lot especially during rain season.
Roads get flooded with rainwater, therefore becoming impassable.
Nevertheless, the road has developed potholes which have really damaged our vehicles," said Willy Mutuku one of the drivers.
"I just became desperate after I discovered that I make losses daily as I have to repair it often.
I have incurred many losses, therefore, I just decided to pack it at home until the road is repaired," said Kivala another driver.
Some parts of the road were swept last year when heavy El-Nino rains were experienced all over the country which left them badly damaged.
Drivers and other road users are still calling upon the county government of Machakos to take action and proceed from where Ndeti left.
