The residents have accused the commission of conducting the exercise casually, and not doing enough to ensure residents register as voters ahead of the 2017 general election.

"We are not happy with the IEBC. Many people want to get the voter's cards but the registration officials are not always available. Most of us work during the day and when the officials come to the nearby centre to register people, we are usually at work, hence not available. The next day we hear that they have moved to another centre, far away from here," lamented Samuel Kimani from Moto sub-location.

The 30-day voter registration exercise ends on March 15, 2016.
