A section of Kibera residents have expressed their displeasure over what they termed as intimidation from matatu touts.
They said they have been subjected to too much embarrassment by the operators of public service vehicles, allegations which the conductors have denied.
One commuter who claimed he has been a victim of too much abusive language, said the public transport system is now lowering the integrity of their customers and isn't good for business.
Jeff Odero said he was recently received all manner of insults when he delayed that give out his fare to the conductor of one of the matatu saccos operating in the area.
"I felt humiliated. For how long are we going to continue being subjected to such kind of shame and language? asked a bitter Odero.
The claims were also echoed by John Kirui who said he has undergone the same problem at the hands of the same conductor.
However, John Orwa, a conductor with Bureti Sacco denied the allegations terming them as unjustified.
He said passengers at times tend to be provocative as they always have the tendency to look down upon them.
"I don't abuse my customers. They are the reason as to why I am here," he explained.
He, however, appealed to passengers to respect and cooperate with matatu crews.
