Residents of Miwani Kisumu County have lauded Governor Jack Ranguma for forming a task committee to look into the recent clashes at Kibigori border.

The residents said the governor together with other governor agencies should take the findings of the committee seriously and implement them to avert any future clashes.

“It is good that the committee has been set up, we just hope their findings will be beneficial in the promotion of peace because none of us wants clashes,” said Aggrey Okumu.

The residents while addressing this writer on Tuesday morning said that the committee set up should not be out to waste the tax payers money like seen previously on the national level.

“In this country we have seen review committee being formed and they use tax payers money, and yet in the end nothing concrete comes out of it we are calling on governor Ranguma to ensure that this will not be the case here,” said Maurice Koech.

According to the residents, clashes over cattle rustling should not be existing in this day age and era and all government agencies should come together and ensure the culprits have been apprehended.

Yesterday Kisumu County governor Jack Ranguma formed a five-member team to look at the clashes that happened at Kibigori in Miwani.
