Residents of Dondori in Nakuru county have complained over the poor state of the roads connecting to Dondori trading center saying that the government should look into the issue as Dondori remains the bread basket of Nakuru town.
Speaking on Monday to this writer, they complained that the county government has forgotten them despite their efforts of informing the government in 2013. They said that the area being agricultural needs better roads to transport farm products from the farms to markets like Nakuru.
They further said that they incur huge loses and that it is a high time for the government of Nakuru to look into the issue.
Daniel Kimemia, a boda boda operator said that they spend a lot of money repairing their motorbikes due to poor roads. Kimemia also said that they are forced to over charge their clients so that they can get money to repair the bikes on top of money for their family use.
"For us to get something from our business we must over charge our clients so that we can also get money to repair the bike and that of repaying loans as most of the motorbikes are on loans," she said.
They particularly cited Kinyororo road as the worst road saying that even motorists avoid using it the due to its state.
They added that during this rainy season, things are worse as most of the roads become impassable; they threatened to hold peaceful demonstration to air their grievances in order to compel the government to repair the roads.
