A majority of residents in Nakuru town west sub-county have termed as political, a plan by the county government of Nakuru to operate from the sub-counties level in a rotational manner.
The residents who spoke separately on Wednesday dismissed the planned outreach program announced by governor Kinuthia Mbugua on Monday as only seeking to achieve political mileage.
"Where was he all these time? Why is he coming up with such initiatives when elections are around the corner," Cornel Juma said.
"This is the greatest height of hypocrisy! The county government should know that we are disappointed," Evans Barongo, a Rhonda resident, added.
The outreach program announced by Mbugua on Monday seeks to move services closer to the people and offer them a chance to meet their county leaders, Mbugua said.
However Aston Kimani supported the move saying that it offered residents a rare opportunity to air their grievances to the county heads.
