There is need for enhanced partnership between residents and security officers if lasting tranquility is to be achieved in Kaptembwa.
Area chief Stephen Koech said if such a measure is put in place, then Kaptembwa will never know crime again.
Speaking Tuesday in his office, Koech added that it was increasingly becoming difficult for police officers to do their work of maintaining law and order because some misguided residents were assisting criminals.
He hit out at such residents and warned them that they would not hesitate taking action against them should they be found.
He urged the locals to tip security officers of any suspicious activities or individuals saying that doing so was a sure step towards living in a crime-free area.
At the same time he called on residents to register as voters saying it was their democratic right to do so.
