Maseno residents have been cautioned against using untreated water.
Speaking on Wednesday to locals in Maseno, Health Officer George Odhiambo said to curb diseases such as cholera, the residents ought to treat water by boiling it or using other means such as water guard.
He urged the residents to be cautious despite the water shortage.
“Your health is very important. Always ensure you boil water to ensure you kill the micro-organisms such as vibrio cholerae that cause diseases. We have had cases of cholera outbreak recently and we urge each of you to be very cautious," he said.
