Residents from Itumbe town and Nyakegogi sub - location have urged the county commissioner for his intervention to remove the area chief from office as they have no faith in the chief.
Speaking on Tuesday at Sameta sub-county headquarters, the residents led by their chairperson, Domain Rosana, said they have lost faith in their chief as they want him to be removed from the office. They accused the chief, Henry Mirera, of not allowing any alternative opinions from residents after making any decisions at the location.
They also accused him of being too confrontational and abusive to whoever does not agree with his opinion as they urged the county commissioner to remove him from office.
''Today we decided to have peaceful demonstration as we have a petition against the chief of Itumbe location, Sameta sub-county to be removed from the office because of his bad behaviours,'' said chairman Rosana.
They have demanded his immediate removal from office as they presented their grievances to the office of the commissioner in Kisii County. Deputy Commissioner Sameta sub- county, Johnston Mwirigi, has urged them to be calm as they he has heard their grievances and necessary measures are going to be acted upon.
