Kanyakwar sub-location assistant chief has warned residents against vandalising street lights.
This is follows a string of incidents in which a number of street lights have been vandalized by unknown people.
Speaking on Friday during a meeting at Obunga Community Hall, the administrator, Maurice Nyanga warned those involved in the act to stop.
"It is very shameful for someone in this area to vandalize the street lights. These street lights have brought great benefits to traders and residents in this area. We will not take it lightly for those who will be caught in such acts," said Mr Nyanga.
He urged the public to work together with the authorities to help curb vandalism of the street lights.
Mr Nyanga said that stern action will be taken against those who will be caught vandalizing the street lights.
"I kindly ask everyone to participate in taking care of the street lights and report any person spotted vandalizing them. I am sure the culprits are among us and so if we work together to fight the vandalism, then we are sure it will stop," he added.
He also added that those vandalizing the street lights must be having ill motives and so will be dealt with accordingly.
