Residents of Mashimoni village in Kibera slums and its environs have been warned against careless dumping of garbage.
They were advised to use areas set aside by landlords to throw wastes such as used polythene papers, plastic containers, and food remains.
Speaking today morning at Mashimoni village in Kibera, Titus Ogora, who owns residential houses in the village warned tenants who violate the rules and throw garbage all over. He called upon all residents to be vigilant in taking action to keep the living environment clean.
''We must make sure that the environment is always clean. As residents, let us live responsibly without dirtying our environment. Remember, a clean environment is for our own health and we must keep it clean or else we shall contract diseases,'' he said.
Ogora promised that he will always be visiting the living premises for his tenants to ensure that their living environment meets the desired standards for clean air to breathe.
"I urge all tenants to dump wastes correctly at designated areas,'' he concluded.
