National Land Commission Chairperson Mohammed Swazuri has warned rogue land brokers in the country to stop their illegal businesses.
Speaking after issuing 200 title deeds to members of Nyandarua Progressive Agency in Solai area of Nakuru County on Thursday, Swazuri said that the commission is working with the office of the Director of Public Prosecution to pursue those involved and punish them accordingly.
"We are issuing sturn warning to land brokers who are still operating their illegal business to con people. Together with the office of the Director of public prosecution, we are in pursuit of wayward land buying and selling agencies in a bid to weed them out of the land value chain," Swazuri said.
The NLC Chairperson also noted that rogue agencies had been the leading triggers of land wrangles in the country with a considerable number of them practicing in Nakuru and Mombasa Counties.
"There are many of these land brokers in Nakuru and Mombasa counties where there has been reported many cases of land conflict in the country. The government together with the commission is ready and still remains committed in solving the land issues in the country but first we have to do away with the rogue land brokers," Swazuri added.
