Ruaka town residents have lauded police efforts in providing security during the Christmas period.
According to the residents, no crime was reported within the area as they celebrated Christmas.
Speaking on Sunday, Benjamin Kosom, a retail shop operator within Ruaka town lauded the police for their patrols within the area.
He said that heavy police presence was witnessed within the area a move he said kept criminals away.
“I am happy by the security that was provided within Ruaka town on the Christmas Eve and even the day itself,” he said.
Kosom said that crime elements that are often witnessed during such period were curtailed.
Mercy Njeri, a resident within Ruaka said that residents had confidence in their security personnel. She said that residents feel safe adding that the same surveillance should be provided as the New Year approaches.
“We are happy that security has been good during the Christmas period and want to urge the police to ensure the same during the New Year,” she said.
Addressing journalists at Limuru town on Sunday, Limuru OCPD Mohammed Bakuli said that security will be streamlined ahead of the New Year.
Bakuli said that police will remain on patrols adding that residents should cooperate with them full to weed out criminal elements.
