Ruiru sub-county traffic base commander Daniel Sambi has put on notice motorists who flout traffic regulations saying that they will be dealt with accordingly.

Speaking to journalists at Ruiru Town on Thursday, the traffic base commander warned that licenses of errant motorists will be revoked.

He observed that cases of motorists flouting traffic rules have increased leading to rise in accidents in the sub-county.

The commander specifically warned drivers and conductors of Public Service Vehicles (PSVs) accusing them of ignoring simple traffic rules.

“We are going to crackdown and deal with motorists especially PSVs who are fond of breaking traffic rules,” he said.

The Traffic base commander said that they are working closely with the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) to tame rogue motorists.

He added that more traffic police will be stationed on major roads in the area to hunt down errant road users.

The official also asked pedestrians and commuters to adhere to road regulations. He stated that road accidents will decline if road regulations are observed strictly.

Speaking in Thika last week, NTSA Director General Francis Meja said that a major crackdown on rogue motorists will be conducted soon.

The official also warned PSVs which have not registered with Saccos saying that they will be phased out.
