Deputy president William Ruto has encouraged Kenyans to own up insecurity issues affecting the country stating that it is a collective responsibility in curbing the menace.
Ruto who was speaking in Kapsaret Constituency, Uasin Gishu county also encouraged each and every individual to know his or her neighbor in order to avert cases of insecurity during the festive season noting that it will ease the work of security officers.
“You don't lose anything by knowing your neighbour, take time, be interested to see to it that your homestead is safe. This will help ease the work of security officers,” DP said.
During the trip, the DP also opened three churches in the region; St.Paul Catholic Church, Mosombor Anglican Church and Lemok AIC Church. Ruto also cautioned Kenyans to be keen as they celebrate during the festive adding that celebration should be of good morals.
"We are few days away from Christmas and New Year but that should not be used to cause discomfort on our neighbours. Let us organize parties that show respect to the Almighty God," Ruto added.
Ruto was accompanied by several leaders including Kapseret constituency mp Oscar Sudi among other local leaders.
