Teachers in Kasuitu Primary School in Machakos County are suffering from inadequate offices due to lack of enough infrastructure.
This is according to the school's head teacher, Jane Mugambi, who said the teachers have been forced to operate from under trees.
"It is unfortunate that in the 21st Century at Machakos County, our teachers operate from under trees due to inadequate space," said Mugambi.
Ms Mugambi who addressed the press in Athi River town on Wednesday said the situation had made it difficult for the teachers to effectively deliver services.
She said her deputy head teacher for instance who is charged with disciplining children had for a long time been forced to operate from under the tree.
Ms Mugambi said this limits operations alongside making pupils lose confidence against the teachers due to lack of privacy.
He urged area MP Patrick Makau to intervene by allocating money from the Constituency Development Fund for the construction of offices.
Ms Mugambi noted that the situation was worse due to the ongoing long rains which have also resulted in flooding in the region.
