A security guard was on Monday arraigned before a Kisumu court accused of robbery with violence.
Paul Mukabwa denied the charges before Kisumu Chief Magistrate Esther Wendo for the offence allegedly committed on the October 15.
According to the prosecution, Mukabwa together with others who were not before the court, colluded and robbed an apartment in Kisumu where the owner was injured.
The court heard that on the said date, a group of four men broke into an apartment belonging Geofrey Ochieng in Polyview area of Kisumu and made away with items including a television set and two laptops.
Ochieng who was injured in the process tried calling for help from the guard but he was nowhere to be found. Neighbours came to his rescue and took him to hospital.
Ochieng later reported the matter to the police who immediately launched investigations into the matter that led to the arrest of the security guard.
Mukabwa was detained until October 9 when his bail application will be heard.
