Senator Chris Obure, has denied claims that he is discontented with the composition of the Kisii government after reports emerged that he had labelled the county regime.

Obure had come under scathing attack on social media with a number of residents defending Governor James Ongwae’s regime and terming the alleged remarks by the senator as unfortunate and ill-intended.

In an exclusive interview with the reporter on phone, Obure urged Kisii residents to ignore the rumours, which he termed as fictitious, malicious and primitive.

“I have heard the claims and I sincerely have to say that I am shocked. I want to urge my supporters to ignore the rumours because they are fictitious and lack vital proof,” he said.

The senator termed the relationship with Governor Ongwae as cordial and challenged residents to shun political differences and concentrate on uplifting the economy of the South-Nyanzan County.

“I don’t remember having a frosty relationship. We have no conflict of interests and our supporters should ignore the rumours and concentrate on improving our economy,” he said.

He defended the composition of Kisii County government saying all regions were fairly represented according to the law.
