Kisii Senator Christopher Obure has called on the Jubilee government and investigating agencies to fast-track probe on how the Sh250 billion Eurobond cash was spent and make them open to the public.
He said a lot of mystery surrounds the spending of the Eurobond funds, a situation he said needs thorough investigations on all officials involved in the transactions
Speaking Monday evening at a fundraiser in Gucha sub-county, the senator said the mystery shows that money was lost and the government should reveal who stole the money.
This comes even after Deputy President William Ruto on Saturday maintained that no money was lost and called on those with evidence of theft of the Eurobond cash to present it to investigating agencies.
But he told the government and EACC to conduct thorough investigations instead of maintaining that no money was lost despite the many loopholes in their defence.
He said the opposition, Cord, believes that the government is insincere in its explanation and called for those who will be implicated to be brought to book.
“It is our right as Kenyans to demand for information from government. President Uhuru Kenyatta should explain to Kenyans how the money was spent.
“We are taking stock of all the failures of the government and when the time is ripe, we will be informing the public. Jubilee should improve its image before it is too late,” he added.
