Several litres of illicit liquor have been nabbed by police in Manyatta, Masinga sub-county in Machakos county today Feb 10.
Confirming the incident Masinga OCPD Joel Kiptum said that several suspects were arrested during the crackdown.
"I got information from some residents that some people in the sub-county are still running the illicit brew selling business even after our tireless efforts to end the same.
Therefore, I had to take action immediately with police officers to crack down where we managed to arrest some few business owners," said Kiptum.
Kiptum said that the type of local illicit brew which was nabbed is chang'aa.
He warned people already engaged in running such businesses to cease and instead start accepted business by Kenyan law which might even of great benefits to the owners.
He also warned anyone thinking of starting an illegal business to forget about it as comprehensive strategies have already been set to conduct continuous crackdown and arrest those involved.
