Residents from Mavoko sub-county will be issued with Uwezo Fund cheques in March this year, says Bishop Muli.

Bishop Nicholas Muli who is the fund's chairman in the region said those to benefit were members of several groups that had shown their interests to the fund.

"I am happy to announce that our people will receive Uwezo Fund in March this year courtesy of the national government," said Muli.

Muli said the groups which included youth, women and disabled groups had submitted their proposals sometime last year and all went through rigorous vetting.

He urged more groups from the region that had not submitted their applications to obtain forms from various government offices and do so in order to be considered in the next fund's disbursement.

"Several groups are applying and receiving the Uwezo Fund, we will be issuing cheques worth Sh3 million through the cooperative bank. If you have any kind of group whether church-based, women, men, youth or people with special needs, you need to apply for the fund so as to benefit," said Muli.
