Ruiru  MP Esther Gathogo has urged residents to remember the less fortunate in society as they celebrate Christmas and the New Year.

Speaking when she visited and donated food stuff to the Ruiru GK Prison on Tuesday, Gathogo said that the festive season is all about sharing and showing love to others.

The MP said that it is important for locals to embrace each other and use the festive season to know each other.

“Christmas is all about showing love to the less fortunate and would like to ask Ruiru residents to show love and share whatever they have with those who do not have,” she said.

The  lawmaker further urged residents to abide by the law as they celebrate and cautioned them against over indulging.

Gathogo further asked law enforcers to provide security to the residents as they celebrate.

“Police officers should conduct more patrols in the estates to ensure that people are safe,” she added.

Meanwhile, Ruiru OCPD Isaac Thuranira has warned criminals planning to engage in crime this Christmas  saying that they will be dealt with.

Thuranira who spoke in Githurai after holding a meeting with security officials in the area and urged residents to report crime cases to the police as soon as possible.
