Youth in Nakuru have been urged to maintain peace as the country gears to 2017 elections.

Nakuru West MP Samuel Arama asked the youth to avoid been used by selfish politicians to achieve their political goals.

On March 2, an armed gang stormed Flamingo estate in Nakuru with Machetes and slashed two people.

The two were rushed to hospital as police responded swiftly and arrested two suspects who were held at Bondeni police station as investigations continued.

Speaking on Saturday, Arama condemned the attacks.

“The youth must shun violence and instead embrace peace. We are heading to delicate times as the 2017 election closes,” Arama said.

He asked youths in Nakuru low-class estates of Kivumbini, Bondeni, Flamingo, Pondamali and Kwa Rhonda to indulge in positive activities.
