Six Nyamira based veterinary service providers were rounded up by a team from the Kenya Veterinary Board (KVB) for operating without the relevant licenses.

According to the team that was led by Joseph Makario, they have been getting reports that there are veterinary officers in the area who don’t offer quality services which prompted them to carry out investigations.

The six were accused of operating agro-vet premises without certificates of registration and providing veterinary services within Nyamira town and its environs without approval licenses from KVB.

“All we want is corporation from all farmers that face such fake officers so that we can ensure that only those that have licences are carrying the services,” he added.

He further said that the arrested are currently being held at Nyamira police station awaiting to be arraigned in court.
