President Uhuru Kenyatta has called on water experts to work hard to ensure the water crisis does not go out of hand.
Kenyatta spoke about this during the opening of the 18th African Water Association (AFWA) International Congress and Exhibition at KICC where he called on all people in attendance to seek and find a better solution for the water crisis in the African continent.
Kenyatta said his government is working hard to ensure that the water crisis will not be a problem in the future. He said this is one of the key points being worked on before vision 2030. He advised people to maintain the environment clean so that people do not consume dirty water as per the World Water Report 2014.
Among those who attended the congress was water CS, Eugene Wamalwa who said the government should increase funds allocated for water since agriculture and other things depend on water. His sentiments were echoed by the Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero, who said water is important.
