The County Assembly Service Board (CASB) under the leadership of Nyamira county speaker Joash Nyamoko has been hailed by a local lobby group for its transparency in recruitment of workers.

This is a total contrast with the sister recruitment board of the executive arm (CPSB) that has been rocked with controversies over skewed recruitment in a number of occasions.

Chairperson Stella Kerubo of Nyamira transparency group on Tuesday said her group has never received complaints from members of the public in matters of recruitment in the county assembly.

“To be fair, I want to laud county speaker for showing leadership in CASB. The board has never been accused of bias from any quarter and that is a positive gesture of good leadership. This means members of the public have confidence in it and that should be the case,” she said.

Mrs Kerubo said unlike CPSB, the CASB on Nyamira has shown professionalism in recruitment and urged CPSB to emulate their sister board to restore public confidence.

“We are all aware that at some point CPSB was almost disbanded only for the Nyamira court to come to its rescue. We have heard several negative cases from the public about their recruitment methods with people accusing it of favourism. Perhaps they should consider requesting for a leave from their sister board,” she added.
