Mung'ata on Wednesday stated more security officers had been brought to the parliament building following the riots that occurred on Tuesday.

"I have gotten information that members are not at peace during proceedings following a threatened attack two days ago but I assure all that security has been beefed up," said Mung'ata.

This followed a request by the member of county assembly of Muthwani Dominic Maitha to the speaker's office.

"The office of the speaker should urgently address security threat that members are facing," said Maitha.

On Monday, a female MCA was allegedly trampled on and sustained injuries after disagreements ensued in the county assembly.

A section of MCAs has come out accusing the sacked majority leader Joshua Mwonga of threatening members of the house.

Mwonga has recently been storming the assembly premises accompanied by his followers demanding his seat back.
