The national government has been urged to distribute motorbikes to all chiefs in Nyamira County in a bid to beef up security and improve the performance of the administrators.

Speaking during a funeral in Ramba area on Monday in Bogichora ward, area ward representative Beutah Omanga said the area chief is having difficult times responding and coordinating with other security agencies due to lack of transport and he called upon the government to ensure that all area chiefs are well-equipped.

“If the government is committed to facilitating every security officer to enhance security at grassroots, then the chiefs needs to get motorbikes so that they can deliver,” he added.

“I call on the residents to co-operate with law enforcers to ensure reduction of crime, for fighting crime needs commitment from all of us,” he added.

The MCA accused the National government of not fulfilling their promise of supplying chiefs in all counties with motorbikes.

This comes barely few days after the area residents of Bogichora claimed that the area is becoming more insecure and they wanted the government to intervene.
