Kiambu County Assembly speaker Gathii Irungu has asked opposition leaders to stop propaganda and instead seek facts from government on development projects.

Speaking at Kiambu town Monday, the Kiambu assembly speaker said that it was unfortunate that the opposition had resulted to spreading propaganda and lies and about the Jubilee government.

Irungu said that propaganda and rumours being perpetuated by some opposition leaders about the government will not help.

The Speaker said that the opposition needs to get the right information from government before starting speculating.

“The opposition has been give chances several times to be furnished with information on Eurobond but they declined opting for propaganda,” said the Assembly speaker.

Irungu said that propaganda is not good for the country adding that its time opposition leaders realised that they have a role in championing development.

The Kiambu speaker also warned the frequent criticism of the government by the opposition will only derail development.

He asked leaders in the opposition to be objective and work with the government to address challenges facing the country.

At the same time, the Kiambu speaker called for political tolerance among politicians across the political divides. The speaker said that political leaders need to embrace each other and work towards a common goal which is to serve Kenyans.
